The international reference brand in dayboats will launch its first electric boat in 2024 as part of the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona.

Barcelona, 9th of November 2023

Since its beginnings De Antonio Yachts has been distinguished for developing innovative boats. For the 37th America’s Cup, the Spanish brand and America’s Cup Event Barcelona have reached an agreement for the De Antonio Yachts E23 model to be the Official Electric Boat of the event.

The E23 model is a 100% electric boat, which will assist the new autonomous electric racecourse marks throughout the competition. The new model, which will be launched in Barcelona this Spring, will be commercialised during 2024 and the first units will be used to set the racecourse of the 37th Edition of the America’s Cup which starts on 22nd August 2024.

Grant Dalton, CEO of America’s Cup Event, believes this is an additional significant step in sustainability, continuing to reduce the fossil fuel carbon emissions of the event alongside the advancements with the introduction of the Hydrogen powered Chase Boats also.

“Since the last America’s Cup, we have been acutely aware of doing what we can to replace fossil fuel guzzling vessels where we can. Obviously, we are not yet at a stage where they can be completely eliminated, but where we can- we will. And this is why we have chosen to partner with De Antonio Yachts and their E23 as electric support vessels.”

De Antonio Yachts will be one of the first brands worldwide to develop a series production electric model with optimised performance and range for sailing thanks to an evolved hull development. The new E23 is a catamaran with an integrated foil, which provides additional lift by reducing drag, increasing speed and thus extending its range.

“As a Barcelona born company, it is an honour for us to be the Official Electric Boat of the 37th America’s Cup and to present this new model to the world at an event of this magnitude. It is a privilege to be able to support the organisation and contribute, with our boats, to the most sustainable edition in the event’s history,” said Marc de Antonio and Stan Chmielewski, co-founders and CEO’s of the company. “With the new launch of the E23, De Antonio Yatchs intends to contribute to the revolution of a more sustainable yatching,” the added.

Today it has established itself as a worldwide reference shipyard with production centers in Poland and Spain.

By offering the market new solutions, such as innovative hidden outboard engines for all models and applying concepts that improve efficiency, ease of use and performance, De Antonio Yachts has become a benchmark in the yachting sector.

As a result, the company has expanded internationally, with a presence on five continents and a wide network of exclusive dealers, thanks to the range of its 9 models of different lengths, which have achieved 3 nominations and 2 awards for Best European Motor Boat of the Year along with other international recognitions.
